Rain runs softly and quickly down a windshield as the wipers attempt to clear it but are not quite quick enough. The headlights to the car kick on, and illuminate the area around it, making it clear the speed in which the rain is falling.
This is not a shower.
This is a storm.
The car is parked in the open field of a forest. Lightning strikes and we see that trees are all there is for miles, and barely anything between them. The doors to the car, now visible as a black 1967 Cadillac Eldorado, open simultaneously, and two figures step out. The doors shut just as quickly they had opened and the two figures trek to the rear of the car, and open the trunk. Bathed in crimson tones supplied by the brake lights, they are stationary for a moment, but passing one. The trunk is slammed shut and they move to the front of the car again. The sky bursts from a nearby strike of mobile electricity, and we see that each carries something large in their hands. A second strike blinds us for a moment, but it’s a passing one.
They begin to attack something out of show in the foreground. One with a shovel, stabbing downward with rage and anger, the other hammering with a pickax. Fluid flies upward at them, the color of which is not identifiable due to the lack of sustained light. Each hit, each downward stab, more forceful and angry than the one before it. It goes like this for some time, faster and angrier, angrier and faster, until finally, they stop.
They drop their tools to the ground, and as lighting strikes, we get a better look at them for a split second. One, a man with short hair, spiked upward into a small mo-hawk. His face dark as if made of the shadows themselves. Her with her hair pulled back in braids, a myriad of colors visible for the moment they’re illuminated. Her face is stretched into a smile that is genuine, but still a little bit creepy.
The male shadow jumps down and is now inside a hole which they’ve created, and pulls something out. He hands it up to her, and she rushes back to the hood of the car, kneeling in front of the headlights, soon joined by him, who is wiping the mud from his hands onto his chest.
She looks up at him, her eyes wide and excited. The light from the car shows off her features and more so reveals to us who she is. “We found it. Our last fuck.” says Vhodka Marie, smiling as the rain saturates her more by the second.
He kneels down into the light, face dirty with spots of mud that she immediately begins to wipe away for him. He is The PHRQ Vincent Black, and his eyes smile far wider than his mouth. “Good. Now let's go give it to them.” He smiles for real, and kisses her forehead, leaving a bit of mud on the tip of her nose.
“We might need help, no? All of them versus us.” She grabs his shoulder and pulls herself up as he straightens up. She clutches the box as it becomes more misshapen by the elements, and her grip combined.
He chuckles, and runs his hand back across his spikey hair, which stands up to the water far better than the box, and smiles as he says “We might." "They Will.” She finishes.
The two make their way back into the car, and as we slowly pan back, the headlights die, and instead of fading to black and returning to the darkness from which we came, the darkness returns to us in the bat of an eye.
