The Fade 2 Black logo flashes across the screen at approximately 7:30 P.M. Everyone at home is hyped, because they weren’t expecting “THANKLESS INTENT” to begin until 8. Old school wrestling marks put down their smartphones, which probably have wrestling related cases. Kids are putting their pencils down, mid math equation. Mothers stop peeling carrots in the kitchen - why is that a thing anyway? Everyone having sex switches to the doggy position so they can watch in unison. That’s how much this “Thankless Intent” pay-per-view truly means to people, and it means a lot for Travis Dawson and Carson Andrews to give this to them. After an eleven year hiatus, where no one in their right mind thought Fade 2 Black would ever be resurrected.. Here they are again, making their pay-per-view redebut!
So what gives? Why was the show starting thirty minutes early?! As Jacob Santigato and Cameran Lyle begin to speak, we find out that Fade 2 Black wanted to further hype their first pay-per-view back with a pre-show. This pre-show would first and foremost highlight the fact that.. Well.. neither co-owner had arrived yet, since the camera crew did the men in charge dirty by zooming in on a close up of two empty chairs, one of which isn’t even able to roll underneath the small, antique desk properly. I guess they spent the rest of their budget on this very pre-show. In any event! This pre-show would also highlight all eight participants competing in the semi-finals of the World Blackout Championship tournament tonight!
Eight immortals. One Blackout Champion, as the marquees, billboards, promotional banners and all other forms of marketing would suggest.
Who was going to win this title tonight? Who was going to make history in becoming the first Blackout Champion of the new era?! Video packages would be shown for all eight of these fierce contenders, while it would also be teased that fans would be treated to two matches, exclusively during the pre-show!
SO! First up, we had Rain Corvin. A young man who came into Fade 2 Black as a complete wild card. Not a lot was known about him, besides the fact that he had only one eye - covered around the clock by an eye patch. He was a complete mystery. And for most of his opponents, it scared them to know that this man, who had such a traumatic experience, chose to brave the industry of pro-wrestling. His courage spoke volumes enough. But when everyone saw what he was ACTUALLY capable of inside that ring?!
Man, people were blown away.
Rain Corvin proved himself to be a straight savage when he made his debut at High Voltage #3: “The Fallen”, taking on troubled hot head LeXxXi Riot! There’s footage of him hitting the diving crossbody from the top rope on a staggering, dazed and confused LeXxXi before he nailed her with his signature superkick, awesomely named “Fade 2 Black” and then finished her off with his cobra clutch submission, “Ode to the King!” People weren’t expecting such greatness. Travis and Carson were so blown away that they decided to give the newest guy on the block at the time an opportunity to partake in this tournament the following week.
His opponent? The man he had to defeat to advance? Fade veteran Malk Al-Haq. Oh boy. Strap in, Rain!
Rain was great in the early going, and then the momentum just shifted! Al-Haq, who was in no shape - at least everyone thought - to be competing, let alone in such an important tournament, suddenly got his moment, as if something clicked for him. Once this occurred, Rain tried his best to navigate the situation that was his opportunity slipping away power move after power move. Rain, trying one last time to nail some offense, would roundhouse kick Al-Haq only to be taunted ; challenged Rain to kick him again. And as he did, Al-Haq was able to counter it. Catching and throwing the leg around before taking the newbie out with a sleeper hold.
The following week, Travis and Carson were again so impressed by Rain’s valiant effort - even if he did fail to secure that victory - that they gave Rain another opportunity to shine - this time against fellow newcomer Kasey Kash. During this match at High Voltage #5, named “Tourney or Gurney? (part 2)”, the house was TORN DOWN! Moments to highlight here would be Kasey Kash’s 450 splash, Rain Corvin’s running DDT, Kasey pushing Rain in a way that made him bounce, legs spread, over the top rope, Rain locking on the crippler cross face and then ultimately scoring the win after a CRAZY GOOD “Fade 2 Black” superkick!
As that show wrapped, we witnessed Travis and Carson come out with what looked to be a contract! But the show would ‘fade to black’ before we had the opportunity to see what happened next!
After the Samuel Chatman-Sean Galen tournament qualifying match had been cancelled earlier on in that show, it was highly speculated that Rain Corvin was being offered the chance to be re-entered into the tournament, despite losing to Malk Al-Haq the week prior. And within a day, it was official! Twitter official!
“FADE 2 BLACK WRESTLER RAIN CORVIN GIVEN A SECOND CHANCE TO CAPTURE THE WORLD BLACKOUT CHAMPIONSHIP!”
Rain’s more than likely hoping that his fellow competitors mistake this as an act of kindness from management and underestimate him in the process. Rain has ALL THE POTENTIAL to beat three other competitors - Valkyrie, Druscilla White and Brandon Moore - to advance into the finals, competing in the Castle of Glass match!
Not much had truly been explained when it comes to the ‘Castle of Glass’ match itself, other than it being named after a Linkin Park song, as was the case with everything in this promotion. ...For some of you, that probably never even registered until you read that just now! Details about the match were going to be revealed, and all eight competitors would finally get to SEE what they were up against.. AFTER the first match of the pre-show!
PRE-SHOW MATCH #1: CHERRY KYSS -vs- TWIZTID INSANE This match started with a cocky Twiztid Insane attempting to gain an unfair advantage when he attacked her before the bell even rang. She would quickly regain control of the situation by shoving him off into the corner and kicking some sense into him! After a series of power moves that would result only in a two count, the cockiness from Twiztid Insane would resurface after causing Cherry to nail the turnbuckle hard after a failed attempt at a Stinger splash in the corner. Twiztid thought he had Cherry right where he wanted her, tossing the bodybuilder and personal chef around like a ragdoll, as if it were nothing. Following several different variations of suplexes, it was Cherry’s turn to flip the script on Twiztid when her opponent missed a five star frog splash from off the top. Cherry would taunt Twiztid in the very same fashion as he did to her earlier, before hitting Twiztid with her “KYSS OF DEATH”, her modified version of the Canadian Destroyer. WINNER: CHERRY KYSS MATCH DURATION: 6 Minutes |
And with that? It was time to have a look at the next Blackout Championship tournament participant - Miss Michelle!
Michelle has the reputation of being a cold-hearted bitch to everyone. She won’t hesitate to tell you how she feels about ANYTHING. If anyone were to post anything positive on Twitter - perhaps conveying that he or she were having a great day? Michelle would see to it that their ‘great day’ come to an end! How does she get away with this? It’s quite simple! Not only does she have the ability to kick the ass of ANYONE who stands in her way, or disagrees with the way she carries herself, but she also happens to be the wife of fellow tournament opponent Brandon f’n Moore! And with them? Their three boogey man, who had played an instrumental role in their dominance thus far.
But.. don’t let all that fool ya! It was Miss Michelle herself, without the help of ANYONE, who defeated Cherry Kyss - ya know.. the bodybuilder chick that we all just watched squash Twiztid Insane a few moments ago? - following a hard fought eight minute BATTLE with a curb stomp! So of course, when it came time for High Voltage #2: “Redemption” the very next week, she came down that rampway with a strut of confidence! Who wouldn’t, given the physique and athletic prowess of her former opponent?! This week she wrestled Serotonin, and it became painfully clear that she was underestimating this firecracker! Serotonin had a counter for everything Michelle tried to land, and everytime Michelle gained the upper hand, rookie Serotonin who was coming off a loss herself a week prior, would come firing back from out of nowhere! Serotonin would ultimately win the match following her “Happy Pill” maneuver - upsetting Michelle tremendously.
While we.. can’t quite say the loss humbled Michelle, it damn sure lit a fire underneath her! The following week, at High Voltage 3: “The Fallen”, while Serotonin main evented, Michelle found herself in a tag team match which saw her teaming with her husband Brandon to take on their rivals Tyler Knowles and Cherry Kyss. The Moores bulldozed their way to victory. The following week, Michelle would take on Atara Themis in a tournament qualifying match. Michelle was once again on a winning streak and she wanted to keep it that way. Atara Themis wasn’t going to make it easy though!
Atara Themis was an underrated BEAST of an opponent. She took Michelle to her limit. Michelle was getting so wound up over Atara’s persistence to kick out that she began to yell at her, belittle her, and… don’t forget about the ten face smashes against the turnbuckle! Later in the match, however, while Michelle had her opponent locked in an armbar? Atara escaped the only way she knew how! By stabbing Michelle right in the eyes with her nails! This would change the dynamics of the match tremendously, as we all just knew Atara was on her way to victory! But Atara got just a little too confident not much later when she attempted a splash on Michelle, who was lying across the announce table! Missing this crucial maneuver proved to be her downfall, as Michelle would roll her into the ring, and after countering Atara’s then weak attempt at offense, she would score big with her sunset flip powerbomb!
The following week, Michelle showed up, as cocky as ever as Cameran Lyle interviewed her. Michelle was just as snarky and self-loving as usual, ending the interview segment abruptly when she would smack a banana nut muffin out of Camera’s hand.
WHAT A WASTE OF PERFECTLY GOOD FOOD, RIGHT?!
Michelle is more than confident heading into the tournament tonight. There’s a HUGE chance that she could win her semi-final match and Brandon could win his later in the night. If the two were to face off in the finals, who really knows what would happen?! But one thing would be for certain: “The Felony” would be on top!
Next, we take a look at Austin Ramsey. At the time of his debut against Valkyrie at High Voltage #3, not much was known about this lover of nature aside from him calling himself “The Lord of the Sky!” However, we soon found out that he’s simply a good ol’ boy who loves attempting new things that can and will improve his skill set! And when he does so?! He always manages to triumph, in no time!
His technical-highflying style and affiliation with Todrick Tabor made him an overnight success! Although he was unsuccessful against a very dominant Valkyrie in his debut, he was able to get the job done against Kasey Kash, which led him to being involved in tonight’s tournament after just two matches!
It’s true that Austin Ramsey was coming into his own as a brand spanking new pro-wrestler. Could this rookie overtake THREE Fade 2 Black OG’s when he takes on Miss Michelle, Malk Al-Haq and Jackson Monroe in the first fatal fourway semi-final match of the night?!
THERE’S A HUGE POSSIBILITY!
Will Austin and Todrick be married by next week?!
At the rate these two were going, POSSIBLY!
But enough with the love connection portion of the pre-show! It was time to get down to business and discover…

WHAT IS “THE CASTLE OF GLASS”?!
Above the ring, the structure was set. What looked like an Elimination Chamber, but wasn’t ; it was superior. The walls were constructed of a thick glass, as well as the base, which was designed to perfectly fit around the ring. There were four pods inside, also made of glass! Inside of these was an assortment of weapons. And guess what?! Most of those weapons were constructed of glass with this particular match in mind. Two will enter, but only one will leave as Black Out Champion! But they won't leave lookin' too pretty, that's for certain! |
Jacob Santigato would start singing Linkin Park’s “Castle of Glass” but Cameran Lyle literally put an end to that after about four seconds, seguing into the next competitor - Fade 2 Black OG Jackson Monroe!
Jackson’s been in Fade 2 Black Wrestling since day 1! Throughout Fade’s first run, he managed to defeat the likes of Tyler Knowles, John Rawlings, Sebastian Kane (whom the fans love to remember as “Seabastard the Crab”), and even Falcon May. He is a former High Voltage Champion as well as a former Duos Champion with tag team partner Kryptic X (Rest in Peace, man). Together, they were the dominant tag team known as Cutting X Edge.
Jackson hadn’t been seen SINCE 2009 when Fade 2 Black closed its’ doors. Out of the blue, when Travis Dawson had an interest of returning to professional wrestling in April 2020, he invited the poster boy for Fade 2 Black (Jackson) back! On screen? The two hated each other. But it was all an act. These two were close. But their master plan of pure dominance over the entire AGW roster would never come to light until after things went sour.
...Enough of that, though!
Jackson was pretty much ready to quit the game again until Travis and Carson successfully settled their differences ; buried the hatchet… err, hatchets. There were MANY reasons why things folded back then. But when things were good? They were GREAT. And Jackson enthusiastically agreed to continue competing for them, having weighed the pros over the cons of doing so. And at High Voltage #1: “Revival”, he was THE VERY FIRST PERSON to walk out from behind that curtain! Fans knew the comeback of Fade was real when they saw Jackson coming to the ring!
Jackson proved to be as dominant, as unhinged, and hey! - as legendary - as ever before. He successfully defeated Todrick Tabor in the opening match of the night. The next week, when facing off against Aiden Romero, shit would hit the fan! Aiden was a cocky one. But then again? So was Jackson! Comparable to the way Michelle treated Serotonin before their match, Jackson showed absolutely NO respect for Aiden Romero, despite falling victim to a pedigree, and then “The Blowout”! Luckily for Jackson, he was next to the ropes, as he propped his foot along the bottom to break the three count!
After that? OH BOY! Jackson lost his FUCKING marbles, man!
He wound up disqualifying himself, giving the win to Aiden technically, but Aiden definitely didn’t look like the winner, having been decimated by the hands of Jackson with a steel chair!
The next time we would see Jackson, he was opening the show again at High Voltage #4: Tourney or Gurney? (part 1). He defeated the newcomer Sykosis, revealed after the match to be the mystery backstage assailant that had been attacking the talent left and right during every show! Following his buddy Travis's orders, he inflicted further damage on her and no one has seen her since! Jackson's entry into this tournament may have been the easiest to predict. Is he a shoe-in to win the ENTIRE thing?!
Yeah. Definitely.

AND NOW.. AN INTERMISSION WITH RAIN CORVIN A fireplace. The kindling creaks and slowly ignites the fickle flames. The picture emanates a warm aura. It is an inviting image, In these cold, late November, nights. A figure is sitting in a comfortable armchair, legs covered by a woolen blanket. The room is a seriously furnished one. It has big shelves. In them, old books covered by the heavy dust of ages passed. The figure throws some more wood into the small flame. It coughs afterwards. A deep voice fills the room in the following moments. We recognize it immediately. It belongs to F2B’s very own Rain Corvin. “The combat will begin shortly. It’s your very own antihero, against three other fighters. I do take them seriously. I never underestimate my opponents… ..Well. It happened once, in the fight against Malk Al-Haq, and I paid the bill for that. Almost very expensively. Then I got another chance. Because the powers that be, recognize the capability and talent of Rain Corvin. They know I can put butts on them arena chairs, with the way I fight. There have been voices raised about this, in the media. Voices like Serotonin’s. Unhappy because they think Rain Corvin has been given a chance, Rain Corvin does not deserve. They ask if I have ever even won in this company. Well, Serotonin has had two whole wins, If I am not mistaken, and yours truly also. It is true Lexxxi, Triple X, Riot, sucks and so does Kasey Kash. But that’s not my problem. I went into them matches and fucked them poor, sad, beings, up. I warned them. I did not underestimated them. I plain and truly warned them about their shortcomings. Lexxxi Riot spouted some lame shit and Kash did not even bother to answer my call. They did not take me seriously. Now they’ve gone and pissed off into nothingness. Maybe they are successful somewhere else, you say? Well here’s what I say… ...Somewhere Else sucks. That’s why Kash can be somewhere else champion. Maybe even Serotonin wants to be champion, somewhere else. That would be good, because as far as I see all she can do is spout nonsense into that mobile phone of hers. Well, mobile phones are not allowed in a squared circle. If I need a blogger someday, I’ll call for the bitch to be present. I do not underestimate anyone. I’m plain serious about what I say. And what I say is: I’ve got mad skillz bro. I will fight to my very end In this upcoming match. Not because of the shinies that come with the win. But because I love to fight skilled fighters. I love the fight, I live for the fight and I will die fighting. I am an honest human being. I come up and say what I think, and what I think is that I love championship caliber matches and fighters. Fighters like Malk Al-Haq and Brandon Moore. Fighters like Serotonin? Well them can improve a lot or suck off. That’s all I gotta say about the business. And what a business it is, dear fighters and fans, championship material business! So, dear maggots and morons. Enjoy “Thankless Intent”. With all your passion. Because it will be a night to remember.” Rain stands up from the armchair he was sitting in and turns his back to the camera as the pre-show special would continue! |
We transition from Rain Corvin to a photo of the unflattering Malk Al-Haq.
Malk Al-Haq was another one of those wild cards we talked about earlier. His intentions in this tournament were unknown. It was heavily rumored that Travis and Carson needed one more person for the tournament. They were short on talent at the time, with only fifteen active competitors on their roster, so they called the OG, who had already been working as a road agent for them, in to fill the spot! Given Malk's weathered appearance, no one really expected much. They figured this man - best known in Fade 2 Black for his feuds with Lincoln Grey and Brandon Moore - had primed years ago and was now in no shape whatsoever to compete!

But, as previously mentioned, something within Malk seemed to click during that match against Rain Corvin! It was as if he discovered that wrestling was like riding a bike: something that was easy for him to pick back up. Malk was able to brawl his way to victory against Rain to earn his spot in the tournament, but it wasn't until High Voltage #5, in an impromptu match against the mysterious Killjoy that we fully realized the Arabian still had it! This match was brutal - something that Malk did well. After checking out footage from this match, Cameran and Jacob commented on how much the 'castle of glass' match suits Malk's fighting style.
Man. Could you imagine if THAT man made the main event?!
The cameras would pan back to ringside where our second match of the pre-show would begin to get underway!
PRE-SHOW MATCH #2: ADI GOLD -vs- SEROTONIN Serotonin wasn't feeling being on the pre-show one bit - she even rolled her eyes and paid the fans in attendance no mind at all as she came to the ring! Adi, on the other hand, was accompanied to the ring by her brother Fisher and boy, were they excited! Ring announcers Dalton and Jada kept making comments, and at times jokes, as there was a massive contrast between the attitudes of both competitors involved. Adi enthusiastically tried her luck at shoulder tackles, cross body take downs and clotheslines. Serotonin used her speed and agility to creatively dodge all of Adi's offense, causing her opponent to tire her own self out. Serotonin would bait Adi as she stood still in front of the ropes positioned near where Fisher was standing. Adi took her brother out with a suicide dive, leaving her an easy target as she helped her brother to her feet, in shock. Serotonin would carelessly shove Fisher right back down before hitting the Adrenaline Dump on the outside, rolling Adi into the ring to finish her off with "The Happy Pill" (shooting star press) to pick up the win! After winning, she didn't even allow for her arm to be raised. She instead carried on with her attitude, rolling her eyes before exiting through the curtain. WINNER: SEROTONIN MATCH DURATION: 4 Minutes, 2 Seconds |
Next, we had ‘The Wolves’. Valkyrie and Druscilla White. These two barbaric alpha-females had a real lust for blood, and there’s no doubt about it that they were going to gang up on Rain Corvin and Brandon Moore in the fatal four way match tonight ; sticking together until the bitter end. The two had gone as far as to state that if and when it comes down to the two of them, all bets are off - that just goes to show how badly both these women want this title!
And it’s a HUGE possibility - a 50% chance, actually - that one of these women WILL make the main event and walk away as Blackout Champion. And just like Al-Haq and Brandon Moore, there’s no doubt that they would thrive in an environment like the Castle of Glass match!
Their Fade credentials?! Valkyrie had proven to be dominant up to this point against Austin Ramsey and Tyler Knowles. Yes, fucking Tyler Knowles! That should tell you something. And Druscilla, though only having competed in one match (last week, against newcomer Adi Gold), had a very strong and dominating showing as well. For these two, the advantage was there, and their intentions were clear!
Total fucking destruction.
Total fucking destruction.
But.. as this pre-show wraps up, there was one last thing to note. And that’s that ya couldn’t have destruction without “The Despised One” himself - Brandon fuggin’ Moore!
When Fade 2 Black was first created in 2008, it was rumored that Brandon Moore was a fan of neither Travis nor Carson. Hell, we’re pretty positive that he still hates both, present day! And although it's never been explained why, how could Travis and Carson really be pressed to care, as when Brandon joined the company back in 2008, the population of Fade 2 Black Wrestling fans increased tremendously. Travis and Carson made sure to capitalize off the momentum their sworn enemy had gained for them, making sure B-Moore merchandise was being massed produced despite the rumored hatred among the two parties.
Kinda like now:

Brandon Moore had a way of making EVERYONE hate him ; fans and fellow competitors alike.
Kinda like now.
Brandon Moore always had a knack for pushing the envelope. He never obeyed rules back in 2008. He made his own. And he made them as he went along, giving zero fucks what anyone thought about him.
Kinda.. Like now. Remember when he struck Tyler Knowles with a steel chair at High Voltage #1: “Revival” only to demand that the match continue after already being disqualified?! With a contract clause that states that Brandon has the power to make ANY of his matches ‘no DQ’ matches, EVERYONE was at Brandon’s mercy. AT ALL TIMES..
