Samuel Chatman wakes up in one of the guest rooms at Austin and Todrick's house. The sun is coming through the windows, and it looks like this is going to be a good day. He throws the covers off of him and swings his legs out of bed. He can smell food cooking, and his stomach rumbles. No doubt Todrick was up making breakfast for them. He heads into the bathroom and picks up the clippers, and lines up his goatee. Once he is satisfied, he goes through the normal routine of personal hygiene. When he steps out of the shower, he wraps a towel around himself and stares at his glowing skin in the mirror for a few minutes. He nods to himself before heading into his room and getting dressed. Today's look was explicitly chosen with different green shades because he would finish it off with a camouflage-patterned jacket, so he blended in with his future surroundings.
As he emerges from his room, he heads down the hall and admires how Todrick had decorated the place. It looked really lovely. Sam thought that Austin and Todrick were moving at an accelerated pace but who was he to judge? He had done what many said would never happen and proposed to Kylie Fox. Who would've thought that Sam of all people would settle down? His past was littered with parties, alcohol, and women..lots of women. They were always throwing themselves at him, and even though that was no real excuse, it made him feel better. He had no idea how many bodies he had, but he had lost count. Sam was used to women and men throwing themselves at him, and he was immune to it these days. He and Kylie have been dating for over a year. Mariah Cruz had threatened Sam before introducing the two because Kylie had had her heart broken before by wrestlers, and she was done with them. Sam had changed his ways since his daughter had been born, and that was probably the ONLY reason she introduced the two.
Kylie was beautiful and successful and had intelligence that other women he had messed around with did not possess. This was entirely different for him. For the longest time, he felt like she was out of his league, but he did not let that stop him. He pursued her, and it paid off. She made him happy, and the best part of all of this was that Whitney adored her, and she and Akasha got along splendidly. The last thing he needed was baby momma drama. He rounded the corner and headed downstairs. Austin was sitting on the couch staring at Todrick, who had his back turned and was dancing around and occasionally stopping to twerk to Circles by Megan Thee Stallion. Dinner had been awkward last night because the two were not speaking to one another.
Sam knew that later that day, when Austin was out, Todrick would fill him in on all the drama. He heard Todrick crying last night, but he didn't interrupt. It wasn't that he didn't care about what his lifelong friend was going through, but he had issues he was dealing with himself. He was still down about losing the High Voltage Championship, and he was still furious with Vincent Black for ruining his engagement announcement. Like who the fuck was this dude? They had never had any interaction, and to this day, it has still never been discussed publically what his issue with Sam was. Perhaps he could move forward if he knew what the problem was, but he needed closure, and it was not coming, and that was eating him up inside.
He plopped on the loveseat opposite of Austin and nodded, “what’s up,” and Austin returned the nod. He looked disheveled this morning, and his pillow and blanket were still on the couch. Sam wondered why he didn’t just sleep in another one of the guest rooms, but he suspected it was so Todrick would have to see him if he went into the kitchen. Austin was quite skilled in giving sad looks and wearing Todrick down when he did something to piss him off. Sam turned his attention to the television. It had last night’s Mortal Kombat 11 game still on pause. Sam and Austin had gotten drunk, and eventually, Sam left him and went to bed.
He could tell Austin was dying to tell him about what the fight was about as well, but he was smart enough to know that Todrick would’ve positioned himself somewhere to hear what they were talking about and would’ve come in and taken over the conversation. These two were cute together, but their fights could be exhausting. Besides, Akasha was the Mom of F2B and the LIFE cast, so that was her job. Todrick began plating the food, and Sam got up and went into the dining room. He saw two plates and shook his head. Todrick rolled his eyes and went back into the kitchen. Sam made another place setting, and Todrick proceeded to ignore it.

C’mon bruh!
C’mon bruh!
Austin walks into the dining room and sees food on two plates with food on them and begins to stew. He walks out of the room and goes into the master bathroom to brush his teeth.

Toddy, whatever is going on...
Toddy, whatever is going on...
Todrick goes to protest, but Sam holds his hand up and shakes his head.

Don’t emasculate him in front of the company in his house. It’s going to make whatever “this” is worse. I’m not saying forgive him just yet, but let the man have his dignity in front of me, please?

Todrick rolls his eyes again and begins to put food on the third plate. Sam nods and sits down at the table. He looks at his phone and sends Kylie a good morning selfie and text. Austin slumps down into his chair and glares at Todrick, who ignores him and sits down. Austin grabs his fork, and Todrick clears his throat. Austin sighs, and they both look at Sam.

I suppose I’ll say grace.
I suppose I’ll say grace.
They all hold hands, and Sam says a quick prayer. Satisfied, Todrick takes the first bite, and the other two men follow.

Sam looks out the window of the car as the sights of Staten Island pass by. The scenery looks good as the car speeds down the road. The weather was still nice, and he was thankful for that. He put his AirPod Pros in and was grateful the driver of the car he ordered did not make any small talk. His mind drifted, and his thoughts went back to a familiar place, who was Vincent Black? Why did this man have such disdain for him? He had done some research on him, but he would never admit that aloud. The dude was in his 30’s and had the height and weight advantage on him. He has to adjust his wrestling style in their match at High Voltage 8 this coming Tuesday. This dude fancied himself a powerhouse from what he had seen of him in his F2B and OPW matches. He liked to straight-up brawl at times, but he had technical skills as well.
He didn’t fancy submissions much, but he could lock them in if he had to. Headbutts were something he loved, and that meant he would probably go after Sam’s moneymaker face. He hated that his skin color always made him look worse than how he felt after a fight. He also fancied mounted punches and planting people’s faces. Fuck, he thought to himself. There was also the issue of Aiden Romero making himself a nuisance during this match, but Todrick would be there like he always was to handle that. He couldn’t let himself get distracted at any point in the match against Vincent.
Seriously, fuck this dude. One of the happiest moments in his life had been tarnished. What a jackass. This was personal, and this was not about a win or a loss here. This was about inflicting as much pain as possible. This was about ruining something of his that mattered, his ego. If his mouth needed to be wired shut afterward, that was a bonus. Sam’s anger had flared up, and he closed his eyes to bring it back down. This wasn’t going to be a classic wrestling match at all, and he knew it.

Vincent Black’s foster father’s house was in view. Sam got out of the car and crossed the street and stood looking at the home. He began recording on his cell phone. The house indeed was small, and surely you could hear everything in your neighbor’s house because they were so close to one another. A sad-looking black dog was chained up in the front yard. He looked at Sam with a "rescue me" look, and Sam was amused at the sad looking surroundings. The dog looked neglected and mistreated by its owner, giving Sam an idea to do something completely different from what he had initially come there to do. The dog stood up and was soaked in dirty brown water from the mud puddle he had been lying in. He looked at Sam and slowly attempted to wag his tail.

What’s up, Fade 2 Black wrestling fans. Daddy has a special treat for you today. I will answer the question that some of you have been asking yourself in your heads and on social media. Who is Vincent Black? Why should we care? Why is he trying to make a name for himself in F2B by challenging Samuel Chatman without working his way up the ladder earning the right to challenge someone of my caliber? Well, let’s get started, shall we?
Little Vincent began here, and as you can see, he wasn’t treated the best and often was chained up, dirty, and hungry for a better life. This fella is an accurate representation of what life was like daily for him. He will tell you that this made him stronger, but I don’t think it did. Vincent longs for love, and he has all of his life. He still craves attention, and that made him focus on me. He saw how I am with my daughter and craved a father figure. As I said on Twitter, I care about my little buddy, and if I can help, I will.
I mean, this place is horrible, and I want to help little Vincent get a better life, every piece of trash deserves a special place in a special dump. Let’s see what we can do about this.
Samuel places a call to Staten Island Hope Animal Rescue.

Hello, I would like to report a dog that needs rescuing at *Beeeeeep*. The dog is chained up in mud puddles and looks malnourished, and no one deserves to go through that. My little buddy needs love and attention and a good home.

Sam hangs up the call and turns around, and heads back towards the car. He stops recording for a moment and edits the video to beep out the address. Even though he didn’t care much for Vincent, he had a shred of human decency in him, and there is a certain caliber of fan that will show up to the house and do something despicable, and Sam didn’t want that on his conscience. The animal control truck pulls up later in the afternoon, and they enter the yard and take the dog off the chain and lead him to the truck. Sam records all of this, and he tells the driver to follow the truck.
🐺 Samuel Chatman 🐺
Alright, boys and girls, I just did a good deed and racked up some heaven points in the process. Little Vincent is in the truck in front of us, and he is surely in for a better life. Some people may disagree, but anything is better than what he was going through there. If someone would’ve done that for the human version, he wouldn’t be so bitter and obsessed with me. He hates happiness so much that he saw fit to attempt to ruin my wedding announcement. He was so bitter he stalked Kylie and me on Twitter all night. He created a fake jewelry store account and just made an ass out of himself all night. Kylie is too classy for the back and forth because it doesn’t go with her brand. He made it a point to attempt to go after everyone in my life.
He tried to exchange words with your beloved Akasha Monroe, who never fights with anyone on social media. A lot of you hated that, I’m sure, but when you deal with these jealous types, you get sucka shit like that. He then went after fan-favorite and my tag team partner Todrick Tabor. Why Vincent Why? We know who hurt you, but if you want a healthy relationship with your father figure, that was not how to do it. I’d hate to hold you down only to see that you are really a clown. I suppose it was a test to see if I’d walk out of your life like everyone else, but I saw through your plan. It was nothing more than a bad song, so I killed the noise because my actual kid needed me.
Sometimes it gets boring talking in a circle, and that’s how I feel when we have these useless exchanges on Twitter. You are like a lost little puppy, sitting at home waiting on my every word so you can post something. You are almost as dull as Atara Themis. She thinks she is interesting because she makes 10,000 useless posts a day, and that keeps her relevant. You both need someone to make you relevant, so you feed off one another. You keep my name hot in these streets. I ain’t in my feelings with it, and I know you love to talk down to others, but you continue to prove that you need to go back and forth with me to garner interest. Imagine if I said that I wasn’t going back and forth with the little kids, then what would you do? I guess what you do now, stay in your small circles and have everyone else ignore you.
You need me to acknowledge and respond because of all the exposure you get from all of my followers. It’s about time either of you went to war with someone outside of your own heads. I’ll never let you see me sweat. I’ll never let you come between me and my check. Twitter shows the receipts to back up what I’m saying. You will say it’s false, but who seeks who out? You’re both so desperate you take pop shots at Todrick, praying that he will notice and help launch into a relevance that you have never experienced before. Want to know a little secret? I lost that title on purpose to show you just how boring and irrelevant you are. Since you won, what have you done with it? Who is talking about you other than Vincent? Another boring and irrelevant soul in F2B that needs to remember who the big dog is in the locker room. He is trying to save face with the other losers he chills with.
Now y’all in cahoots? A pussy in his feelings that is a clout chaser. Imagine me entertaining either of you goofy ass clowns. You can’t handle that the fact that even with no title, I’m still the star of F2B. I’m content because I pull up one deep, and y’all gotta bring whole cliques to come at me. Shut up with your scary asses. Every time you send a shot, I’m going to send it right back. Keep talking that slick shit thinking it bothers me. I’m going to let my actions do all the talking. Little shrimps stay in your place as a side dish because everyone knows the steak is the star of the dish.

The truck stops at the shelter, and Sam gets out of the car as they bring little Vincent inside for processing. Sam waits patiently and takes a tour of the dogs there that want to be adopted.
Sam stops in front of a cute little dog with a red collar.

Look at you, little fella, this is the fate of someone that was born that their mother shouldn’t have had. The cycle has to end somewhere. I wish you well.

Sam continues down the hall and stops in front of a poster.

Time after time, we see ads on television about rescuing dogs just like this. If a commercial or a poster like this existed 20 some odd years ago, how would little Vincent have turned out? We will never know the answer to that question, will we? Now we are stuck with ole dude wanting to make me look like a bitch. Anybody rocking with him is someone he is fucking or a bitch that he is paying. You would think I’m a killer the way I got these scary-ass bitches acting. Kicking me while I’m down, it’s cool because I will remember all of that. I guess that line is going to make your friends on Twitter excited. All y’all talk about is goofy-ass shit anyway.

Sam continues down the hallway. By now, little Vincent has been given a bath and all of his shots. They lead him into a cage. Someone comes up to Sam and asks him if he sees a dog he wants to adopt. He points at Vincent, and the worker looks shocked and remarks how they just got him in. Sam nods and shoves his into his pockets and follows the employee to the front. Several weeks had passed since his last match with Atara, and he was pleased that all the battle wounds had healed and the bruises had gone away. In the back, they are getting the dog ready for adoption.
Sam signs the paperwork that is required, and they ask him for a name for the papers. He responds with Vincent and pays for tags to be made. They take a picture and post it on their bulletin board. Sam leads the dog outside to the car.

I should of let them lock your ass up.

They get into the car and speed off.

Right now, he’s at home so enamored with me that he is probably watching my videos while beating his dick. Keep watching me succeed from your knees while you suck Atara’s dick. I can’t wait to fuck you up in the ring this week. I want to hurt you with every ounce of my being, not because you came for me, but you went after my fiance. Certain things are sacred, and my engagement was one of those moments. You come from trash, so I should expect you to be trash. You fired the first shots, but you missed, and I’m still here. That was a mistake. You’ll see cupcake.

Sam shuts off the camera. The car pulls up to Angel’s on Earth Rescue Inc., and he turns the camera back on. They get out of the car, and Sam leads Vincent into the building. An employee greets him.

Hi, I recently got this handsome fellow, but I cannot keep him. He doesn’t play well with others, and I can’t afford him to be that way as I have many people in and out of my home. Can you all take him and find him a good home?

Sam uses his charisma and flashes the female employee a loving smile, and she immediately gets to work. Once the process is complete, they take the dog away, and Sam leaves and does not look back. He begins walking towards the car and looks into the camera.
🐺 Samuel Chatman 🐺
I fucking lied Vincent. No one wants you, and I ain’t saving your pussy ass from shit. Stay off my dick and be prepared to catch this fade at High Voltage. When I get my hands on you, I’m working you. When I’m done with that, then I’m circling back around to claim what I knew I could take back at any time. I think we’ve bored you all long enough with Atara struggling to show the world the most uninteresting champion in history. But hey, she loves history, so now let’s make her a part of it. They deserve one another, just not me. So what did we learn today, boys and girls?
We learned that life isn’t fair. We learned that you can’t really escape the environment that you grew up in unless you choose to. We learned that trash will always be trash. You can dress it up and put a red ribbon on it, but nobody wants it in the end. We learned that you can hitch yourself to my greatness, but in the end, it doesn’t elevate you, and when I’m done with you, back to the pound you go. Next time, the little bitch should try someone else. And with that, it’s time for me to say farewell. This match is going to be life-changing for little Vincent, but it’s just another Tuesday for me.

Sam turns off the camera, and the car pulls into Austin and Todrick’s driveway.
Location: Austin Ramsey / Todrick Tabor's house (Manhattan, NY)
Date: Saturday, January 9, 2020
Time: 9:25 p.m.
Sam walks into the house, and he sees Domino and Duke in the living room alone. He hears music coming from upstairs. She Ain’t Got...by LeToya Luckett plays, and Sam looks at the dogs with an understanding.
🐺 Samuel Chatman 🐺
Hate sex huh?
Hate sex huh?
Domino covers his face with his paw, and Duke barks. Sam chuckles and grabs their leashes and takes them out of the house for a walk. He chuckles to himself as he wonders what he missed. Austin was fucking good. How in the hell did they go from not speaking to hate sex? When Todrick has an attitude, there is usually no coming back from that for quite a while. Yet, somehow, little dude was always back in those panties in no time. Still, it could be worse; when Todrick and Akasha used to gang up on him in high school, that was an ordeal. There was one night in particular that Sam would never forget. He had been out drinking with some of the fellas on the wrestling team, underage of course, and they had met up with some girls on the varsity cheerleading squad.
Sam did what he did best and cheated on Akasha yet again. Usually, he was meticulous about the stuff he did and cleaned himself up very well before going home. This night, he didn’t have time to clean up because her parents came home early, and he had to climb out of the window. He knew he was fucked but had nowhere else to go. Jackson Monroe was right the other night when he told Austin to quit fucking up because Todrick had hands, and Sam was about to find that out the hard way.
He quietly walked in the door, and there was Akasha and Todrick on the couch watching television. He spoke, and the sound of his breathing was deafening. His heart was pounding, and he tried to keep an average pace as he passed by them. He heard Todrick remark that it suddenly smelt like vanilla and sin in the tiny apartment. FUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKK! He listened to the hurried footsteps, and he had nowhere to go. They burst into the bedroom, and Akasha marched right up to him, smelled his clothes, and started crying. Sam’s face turned bright red from embarrassment, and the next thing he knew, Todrick had reached back into last week and pulled forward with a hard blow to the face.
Sam knew he deserved it, and his anger had been managed, but his face hurt like hell. He held his hands up to protect himself from more blows. Todrick glared at him and hugged Akasha. She buried her face into his shoulder, and Sam slumped to the floor. They didn’t speak to him for over two weeks, and it was hella awkward. They couldn’t get away from one another. They were in the same classes, ran in the same circles, and lived together in a tiny apartment that they could barely afford because they wanted to be grown and not listen to their parents.
Yep, Austin was fucking good. Although, it was the pipe laying that probably did it. Sam had never even thought about doing stuff with another guy, so that was not an option for him. The dogs had stopped to do their business, and Sam realized he forgot the bags and made a face. They both turned to look at him to wait on him to pick it up. He shrugged at them, and he swore he saw a look of disappointment on Domino’s face. The little fucker had been around Todrick too long. Duke didn’t care in the slightest, and they began the walk back to the house.
When he walked into the house, Todrick and Austin were downstairs on the big couch. They weren’t touching, and there was a considerable amount of space between the two. He sighed and took the dogs off their leashes and put them away. Domino went and hopped in Todrick’s lap as if the dogs had chosen sides, and Duke went and laid down on Austin’s feet. Sam shook his head and thought, “What in the entire fuck?” He washed his hands and then went to retrieve his MacBook Pro from the guest room. He went back out into the living room and saw them both looking at him as he sat down. He quickly looked at the laptop screen because the word vomits were coming. They wanted to tell him their version of what was wrong. Why didn’t he book his ticket to leave tonight? He began to edit the video from earlier, and once he was finished, he looked up, and they were still looking at him, even the dogs.
He sighed and posted the video. He closed the laptop. Todrick didn’t wait any longer and began telling his tale. Austin folded his arms and sulked. Sam leaned back in his seat, and the scene fades to black.
