Samuel Chatman slowly makes his way into his hotel room and drops his bags on the floor. He winces as he sits down on the bed. He had one hell of a fight with Vincent Black earlier in the evening, and all the bruises were prominently displayed on his body. He was exhausted mentally and physically. He takes his shirt off and makes his way over to the mirror. Red marks were everywhere; that would be black and blue tomorrow, he thought to himself. Focus, he had lost focus, and that cost him in the pain department. Sure, he secured the victory but at a cost.
The complete bullshit with Todrick, Austin, and Tyler had distracted him at the most inopportune time. He slowly unbuttoned his pants and pulled them off, wincing with every movement. The beast had returned tonight when he blacked out from unadulterated rage. He was not proud of the loss of control that he had worked so hard to gain. How did we get here, he thought to himself. I suppose it’s been building up for a while now, and I missed the signs and signals from Todrick about Austin’s behavior after the surgery.
This is what I hate about emotional bullshit. I prefer you just tell me what is happening, so I don’t have to guess. I’m not equipped for it. I wasn’t allowed to be in touch with emotions growing up. Dad would beat emotions out of you because that’s not what real men do. If you cried, he would give you something to cry about. If you pouted, he would intentionally find what you loved most and destroy it. All in the name of keeping you from being one of those “sissies.” Today that would be called toxic masculinity. It was the “norm” in households of color back then.
That was the beginning of the anger; the rage would come later. Growing up, life was not easy for Sam. His father’s cruelty led him to eat his emotions because he couldn’t express them. Kids are cruel, and the bigger he got, the meaner they were. He only had one friend, Akasha Monroe, but she couldn’t be around him 24/7. He was bullied at home and bullied at school with no escape. The verbal and physical abuse was horrible. His mother never tried to intervene to save him from any of it because she didn’t want it to turn on her. It would have been nice to blame the evilness on drinking, but his father never touched a drink or did drugs. He was just dark and evil.
Sam would learn later that his father didn’t think he was his because of his light complexion for many years. Had he bothered to look at the family tree, he would have seen that the light complex had skipped a generation and was passed on to Sam. His mother had grown tired of the beatings and lost herself because she had nowhere to go and who would take care of her and Sam? So she stayed and took all that came with it. These days Sam hated all the times he pushed her away when she tried to bond with him because he was angry she didn’t protect him. He now knew that she couldn’t, and she had died before he was able to tell her that.
Sam sit down and stared at the reflection staring back at him. How did we get here? Over and over, the question ran through his mind. One day after an intense day of bullying at school, Cedrick Dever kept pinching his chest and calling him awful names. Akasha wasn’t on the bus that day because she would’ve stopped it by now. Sam had begged him to stop, but that only made it worse. He didn’t dare cry because if his father found out, he’d beat him mercilessly. With watery eyes and a feeling of rage, he balled up his fist and began to pound away at Cedrick.
That was the first blackout, and it took several people to stop the fight. When Sam came to, he stared down at a bloody Cedrick who had been beaten to a pulp. The other kids backed away from him, and he sat in his seat quietly, wondering what had happened. Fate was with him, and he began to hit puberty shortly after that. His body began to change, and it wasn’t long before the good looks were there and he became popular. He worked out, and his body changed as well.
However, the testosterone fueled his anger, and it wasn’t long before he began to get into a lot of fights. Always over something stupid, but there were times where he sunk to a dark place and would get so mad that he blacked out. This would cause him serious issues later in life. It was why he had to move out of his father’s house as a teenager because he was afraid that he’d kill him. It was happening all over again when he came to in the arena, he was in the hallway being restrained by security on the floor, and Akasha was trying to calm him down.
Sam got naked and went into the bathroom, and turned on the shower. He stepped into the water and laid his head on his arm, and let the water run all over him. He wished it could wash all his sins away, but that was not to be the case. He had finally opened up to his emotions only to be betrayed by his brother of all people, betrayed by the person who was supposed to have his back the same way he had always had his. Betrayed by the person that he had always loved and protected no matter the cost. The smug look on Austin’s face had sent him spiraling quickly.
The things that Todrick had described, the things that he had seen during his visit to New York, and the things Akasha had shared with him made him want to destroy Austin, but out of respect for Todrick, he played nice. He saw through Austin’s nice and dark side and was unimpressed. If things were this toxic, it would only be a matter of time before he started putting his hands on Todrick. That was something that he wouldn’t stand for. Now Todrick was in deep, and it wouldn’t be easy to break him out from underneath Austin’s spell.

The sun was shining through the window, and Todrick awoke feeling sore and worn out. Last night had been one of the lowest points of his life in the Sprint Center. He was so embarrassed about his behavior, and when he saw the footage, he sank in the bed mortified. He saw the look of betrayal on Sam’s face, and it burned a hole into his mind. What had he done? Was it repairable? Austin wasn’t beside him as usual because he was an early riser, and he could smell the coffee in the air.
What was Todrick going to do with Austin? He loved him, but deep down, he knew that he wasn’t right for him anymore. He couldn’t break away, though. He should’ve walked out last night with Sam, but he didn’t. He chose Austin, and it cost him. Sam had done so well to not blackout with rage and the years of work vanished within minutes, and he felt utterly responsible. Some people online said that Austin was responsible because he was smirking at Sam, but like usual, Todrick was making excuses for Austin’s behavior.
He wanted to call Sam and talk to him, but he figured Sam was still angry with him. He heard the patio door close, and he hurried up and went into the bathroom and got into the shower. Austin’s sexual appetite was unsatiable these days, and Todrick needed a break. Austin would have already showered, so he was safe for now. They had a plane to catch, so that would at least give him several hours to rest and recover. How did we get here, he thought to himself.
Drunk In Love had become their thing lately. Austin knew Todrick drank, but it was almost as if he was intentionally feeding him drinks now. It had led to more and more drama on Twitter with his co-stars from The Life. More storylines for Todrick meant more airtime for Austin as well. They were a package deal, and their chemistry had led to Austin securing a full-time contract for Season 2. Todrick didn’t think that way, so he was unaware. Fade 2 Black had been taking him for granted and hadn’t adequately booked him in quite some time, so it was nice to feel appreciated and wanted, so he dove into reality television.
Before Austin came along, Todrick had been feeling unwanted. He and Tyler Knowles had flirted around, but Tyler never made any serious move towards Todrick, so he didn’t think anything would ever come of it. Austin swooped in from the heavens and began to pursue Todrick relentlessly. He had never experienced that before. Austin was bold and fearless and was not afraid to express his love for Todrick publicly. That was something that where Todrick came from was not the norm. If it wasn’t for Sam and Akasha, he was sure that he would’ve been the victim of a hate crime in high school. Everyone knew they were friends, but Akasha always took in strays and cared for the unpopular. She was so popular that no one dared question her about it.
Todrick was one of those strays, and Sam was a package deal. Sam had always been friendly to Todrick but was never overly affectionate. He quickly adopted him and dubbed him his little brother. Sam didn’t have any brothers, and Todrick quickly learned the jock and popular man on campus did not have such a stellar home life. Much like Austin, he sought validation in loose girls and the attention they flung his way. Akasha didn’t know about the cheating for a very long time, and he was probably thinking the same thoughts then about her that she was thinking about him now. How could she not see it? It was apparent to the ENTIRE world, right? She was smarter than this! Why was no one shaking some sense into her right now?
Just like she couldn’t see it with Sam, he couldn’t or wouldn’t see it with Austin. Todrick was far from dumb, but Austin opened his senses to things he had never experienced. He had become accustomed to people assuming that he was experienced in sex because of how he carried himself. Gay men being sexually promiscuous was the stereotype, right? At the time, there were no terms for a gender-fluid person. Todrick knew that he did not fit the traditional male role, but that was not acceptable back then. Down-low men treated him like a trophy that deserved a chase, but he was never into it. He loved the attention, but he never put out. The guys would never tell, so he knew everything was fine.
That is until his platform grew, and now he would be seen in the homes of people across the globe. He was a voice to all those that didn’t have a voice. Someone that represented them. So far, he had done that well. This new chapter, did it represent him? Austin entered the bathroom, and Todrick tensed up. Austin saw it and didn’t like it but said nothing. He flashed a smile and opened the shower door, and kissed him. He reminded him that they needed to leave soon to go to the airport.

MIL studios
Atlanta, GA
Sam pulls up to the parking lot of MIL studios, and instantly the bloggers and vloggers surround him. He covers his face and peacefully tries to make his way inside. Whitney wanted to come, but he knew better. He left her heartbroken and crying at home with the nanny. Once again, fuck Austin but today, fuck Todrick. He enters the studio, and production is ecstatic to see him. He made sure that specific footage could be released to Fade 2 Black that they shot. Crew Love needed him, and Akasha had negotiated his contract. She always took care of the business, and he just showed up and performed.
Todrick walked into MIL studios alone. He warmly greeting everyone on the production team, and Sam looked at him and rolled his eyes. He was happy that Austin wasn’t there. That meant there was still hope for Todrick yet. If Austin were there, they would not have been able to film together. The F2B cameras were set up, and both MIL and F2B were filming this encounter, permission or not, and it would be posted immediately.

Judas.
Judas.
Todrick did not immediately respond. Austin had primed him, and he was just in the parking lot and, after car sex, was persuaded not to come inside.

Is all of that necessary Sam?

I dunno, you tell me what’s fucking “necessary” Todrick.

Sam’s tone was dripping with malice and anger. Todrick knew he deserved it and all the safeguards that Austin had put in place began to melt away.

I get it. You’re mad at me, but can we get through this and talk about the issues later? We need to be a unified front for this.

Do what you do, playboi.
Do what you do, playboi.
Todrick rolled his eyes, and his glam squad rushed over. Being the person that he was, he knew that Sam would be on the trail end on his bruises from his match, so he had extra glam personnel to work on him so that his light complexion did not give away the scars of his last battle. Sam said nothing and snorted as they began to work on both of them. When they were done, they both looked at the camera, ready to start.

So we know that you saw some things at the last High Voltage that are making you scratch your head but never fear, Royal Anarchy is still here. We are ready to deal with those bad clowns Aiden and Tyler at Grudgematch.

The production plays a sad clown noise.

Clowns they are Sam. Aiden, who everyone knows as the original COVID vaccine, just can’t seem to find an identity of his own. Every week he comes out and makes it a point to interfere in Sam’s matches and still never demanding one of his own. How sad, boys and girls.

Almost as sad as Tyler Knowles and his desperation to sleep with Austin Ramsey.

The production plays a crowd going Awwww, in a bad way. Todrick shoots a nasty look at Sam, and he thought mentions of Austin were off-limits.

Todrick shoots a dirty look at Sam, and he returns it.

NO kids, we wouldn’t want that because that might lead others to believe one was over compensating. And that is very sad.

Todrick rolls his eyes and shifts in his chair.

Our opponents this week are just sad and desperate. Aiden has proven that he is nothing but Tyler proved that he is a prostitution whore from the ’90s. Surfer turned alcoholic hoe. And we don’t love dem hoes, right kids?

NO kids, we don’t. Especially the hoes that are burning from the flames of their promiscuous ways. That’s not the rising from the ashes we want to see. That burn could also come from a tattoo from Aiden’s nasty ass needles, but who knows?

Sam shrugs, and Todrick scowls at him.

Oh, so the past, huh? Well, here’s what I know. Stay out of my way during the tag match Todrick, and I’m sure you’ll be sucking Austin’s dick at ringside anyway. I’ll dispose of those two clowns Aiden and Tyler, by myself. Maybe you three could have a threesome while I finish off that bitch Aiden in the ring. So many possibilities for you, right? He busted you wide open, so you ready, huh?
Do what you do best and choose everyone over your brother while I handle business in the ring. I’m not worried about losing this match in the slightest. I don’t need to talk shit because everyone out there knows. What they don’t know is why you are such a stupid c**t right now.
Sam gets up and throws his mic on the ground, and walks off. Todrick begins to cry, and the scene fades to black.
